Commercial Solar Lights
There are many great applications for commercial solar lights that could benefit
industry and the public sector, save money on power bills and it’s all environmentally
friendly.
Why so many home owners opt for solar lights? With conventional lights, electrical
cables are required which run from the fuse box to the light installation. This
is not always practical. Digging up concrete and asphalt to install cables can often
make the installation of external lights very expensive and economically unviable.
For these and many other reasons home owners use solar lights. You might also have
notice that in a lot of cases, solar lights are actually cheaper than conventional
exterior lights. The same reasons (and more) apply to commercial installations.
We already see warning signs at the side of the road that have solar panels attached.
We are now seeing commercial solar lights used more and more. Below is a list of
just a few commercial solar lights applications:
- Solar Sign Lights
- Solar Billboard Lights
- Solar Real estate lights
- Solar Bus Stations
- Emergency Solar Lighting
- School & Public Structure Solar Illumination
Commercial solar lights work by using a solar cell or photovoltaic (PV) cell. A
solar cell is a device that converts sunlight directly into electricity by the photovoltaic
effect. Their construction is completely different to solar panels for hot water
which use pipes to collect the heat from the sun. Solar cells are made up of thin
layers of silicon, and when sunlight strikes a cell's light absorbing material,
chemical reactions release electrons, generating an electric current.
Commercial solar lights are cheaper than you might think. For example, a solar real
estate lights can be purchases for as little as $40.
